I still need to throw a melody on it... i think!?!?here's the listing 1960s-style original INSTRUMENTALS (no vocals) are sought by the Owner of a Music Production Library for use in film/TV/commercials, etc. ALL GENRES associated with the decade of the 1960s will work: Folk, British Invasion Rock, Pop, Country, Jazz, Psychedelic Rock, Soul, etc, etc. Great, authentic-sounding performances are a must - he needs tracks that sound like they were lifted straight out of the 1960s. He needs tracks with button endings - no fade-outs. This production music veteran signed many TAXI writers to his previous company, and wants to repeat that same type of success with this venture as well. This company offers a standard exclusive deal. Hi Mike, the C, Am, F & G "verse" parts (to me) sound more typical of 50's music. Now the chorus sounds very 60's (very "Heatwave" by Martha Reeves) & has a vibe that says 60's.

Well... i think you guys picked up on the motown vibe i was going for. I was shooting for early motown. Do you think that the progression should be changed or do you feel that it can still pass for 60's? ORshould i submit it to the 50's listing?hmmm now i'm confused!!

I think it passes for 60s. I wasn't pulled into the 50s with the chord progression in the verses. The rest of it sounds much too 60s to submit it to a 50s listing.

Mike, I think 60's is the right decade especially with the organ, tambourine and hand claps. I think the 1 - m6 - 4 - 5 progression was still a huge player in the 60's. I would say it definately would need a melody to increase the chance of a forward On the production side, the drums sound a little "MIDI-ish" IMO. Also a good dose of reverb would perhaps help in order to ...."sound like they were lifted straight out of the 1960's...." per the listing. I'm definately not an expert, but just my two cents...best of luck,Larry
