I don't remember the details of the listing, but for 70's funk the only thing that sounded out of place is the echo chord pad with the pitch bend--- sounds more 80's Prince to me, but then again I'm just a white boy who never played that funky music Aub

Thanks everyone. Aub, I cheated a bit toward late 70s early 80s because they mentioned Rick James and he used some polyphonic synth around then as did others (Oberheim 4 voice and then OBX and Prophet 5 came in around 79). The Time and Prince brought it in big in the early to mid-80s. I hope my white boy experience playing some of that stuff is still relevant! Hope to hear some others.Mazz

Well Aub got me thinking about the synth brass and even though polyphonic synths were available in the 70s, they may not have been used exactly like I used them. An interesting 1-5 second riff at the top of your song is helpful -- it's good to establish the style from the get-go -- but not necessary.
