- I know it's not fashionable at the moment, but this song screams for some Earth Wind & Fire lead & back vocals. - You need to roll off the high frequencies from the back vocal. They will sit better in the mix. Also, try doubling and tripling the back vocals. Can't comment further, as the song is too sketchy yet. Here's an idea: why not take the best melodic hook in this song and use it as a bridge for your previous (and much better) song. They have similar beats, so it should work. Two years ago, I sat down with a bunch of old tapes and got 100+ song ideas down to less than 10 finished songs. On the one hand, I was disappointed at the low number of actual songs. On the other hand, all these new "composite" songs are stronger with multiple hooks. As Keith Urban once said: "Some songs are just good for spare parts".Vermeer

songwriter,Thanks for posting these wonderful songs. I've taken some time to expend on my "3 hooks" theory on my blog. I think that we both share the same passion for finding great melodic hooks. I only wish my vocal skills were more like yours. I'm working on my artist web page and will be posting songs for others to shred apart By the way, what do you use for these demos? What keyboard/DAW do you use?Vermeer

I liked the melody and feel. And the beat had me bouncing a little in my seat. Tapping my foot. Etc. The hook was nice. Only part I didn't like was the dead space after the chorus. Seemed to lose a lot of momentum there.Dean
