Well I finally recorded something new. It's about freakin' time This is my first instrumental in a long while; wrote it for the recent solo instrumental DISPATCH listing. It's a piano piece, and any comments are welcome. I play it freely, maybe a little too freely Springtide is the title... here's the link (first song on the page)http://www.broadjam.com/davidbroderick Thanks in advance!

Lovely piece. I like Dispatch - even if I don't get a piece to the point where it's ready to submit, it spurs me to try creating something. Hope you keep writing! Good luck with it!!

Nice work. I like how it's got some contemporary rhythms and chord progressions but you can hear a lot of classical influences too.

Thanks guys -n- gals Songwriter, it was a Dispatch listing that just ended yesterday for solo instrumentals:Quote:The Owner of a new Music Library needs a wide range of SOLO INSTRUMENTALS (no vocals) for use in film/TV/commercials, etc. All instruments are OK - piano, sax, flute, guitar, harp, etc. etc. This production music veteran signed dozens of TAXI writers to his previous company, and wants to repeat that same type of success with this new venture. This company will offer a standard exclusive deal where they will control the publishing rights of the songs they sign, the writer keeps the writer's share of the royalties, and the license fees are split between the company and the writer. Great performances are essential. He needs to start receiving material ASAP, hence he asked us to run this as a Dispatch listing. Broadcast quality needed [excellent-sounding home recordings are OK]. Wednesday, July 11, 2007. TAXI # D070711INSo mostly I was worried about the first "verse", and whether it was too rhythmically messy. I'm quite happy if none of you noticed anything If you did, though, feel free to tell me! It's just that I've lost all objectivity with this, and what I'm hearing might be magnified in my mind's ear. If there is a problem, is it noticeable to you guys, and if so, is it bad enough to require correction?Once again, thanks everyone for listening

Got the forward! Thanks for the comments, all Hmm, maybe this signifies a new direction I should be taking. To be honest, what I really want to do is to write for Oprah. That's my "big" semi-short term goal. I'm hoping to put together a few good tracks in that style. My biggest issue now is wrapping my head around the orchestration aspect and combining it tastefully with the sound of the piano (assuming there is one). Once that's done, pitch, pitch, PITCH !
