Quote:There is a listing for hot A/C that I have been working on. This song is perhaps too mellow for that listing, but I thought I'd check with you folks and see what you think.I Dream When I'm AwakeIf I was submitting it I would redo the vocals and strings, and the mix is rough.Songwriter,I think this is the listing you are referring to:NEW LISTING -- An East Coast Management Co. with a platinum-selling track record is seeking radio friendly/Top 40-like HOT A/C-POP/ROCK SONGS in the vein of Jason Mraz, Jesse McCartney, James Blunt, Teddy Geiger, John Mayer, etc. for a 19-year old Male artist whom they're shopping to major labels. All Lyrical themes are OK, but they're seeking only hit songs -- ear candy tunes with memorable hooks & huge choruses as well as smart/clever verses that tell a story. All tempos OK. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD, include lyrics. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS ONLY -- NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI. For ground submissions, please enclose a S.A.S.E. if you would like a response. Submissions must be received no later than April 23, 2007.TAXI # Y070423ACThis is really good song. I like it a lot! But, to me, it has more of a ColdPlay feel than that of the "a la" artists listed. It would probably do much better for listings more along that line. The listing says "...they're seeking only hit songs -- ear candy tunes with memorable hooks & huge choruses..." That is a clear indicator that this is a very high bar listing. The song has a very nice hook, a touch subtle a la ColdPlay. I don't think it has that "huge chorus" that would large a new 19 year old make artist with a label.I would definitely get the mix and the vocals in shape, continue to pitch it for other listings, and keep an eye out for film/TV listings that mention acts that this is more aligned with.I hope this was helpful and it was JMHO...
