Hello,I just submitted the piece "Two Left Feet Waltz" to this Dispatch Listing:Upbeat CAROUSEL/CALLIOPE MUSIC INSTRUMENTALS are needed by the President of a Los Angeles-based Publishing Co. Think music from a circus or carnival; from a horse carousel ride; and from 1950s/1960s children’s TV shows (e.g. the Howdy Doody Show theme). That’s the general vibe they’re seeking. While they want tracks that relate to/represent the innocence of children, they also want these tracks to appeal to adults. Your instrumentals must be at least 1:30 in length. My take on this was to have the calliope being played along with a low budget circus band. I found a steam calliope sample online so you can hear the steam in the melody and chords. I was trying to get a fun, herky-jerky feeling, just a lilttle off kilter. www.johnmazzei.comFeedback solicited.Enjoy,Mazz

It's fascinating to hear the different interpretations of the requirement. I'd like to have a pop at this myself, just because it's so different from what I normally do, but most of my gear is elsewhere at the moment Both are great compositions. If I had to make any kind of comment about them, it would be interesting to hear Mazz's a little faster, and Steve's a little slower. I'm trying to imagine one of the fairground horses going up and down, and matching a tempo to that.Great work fellas, and best of luck with your submissions

Quote:Hi Mazz, Dave, Matto, VikkiI submitted something (oohLalaBand) to this listing as well. Can you have a listen and let me know what you think? It's the first song on my Broadjam page(will it even work today)http://www.broadjam.com/steveagilbertsteveHey Steve,I like the piece. It reminds me a bit of "Brazil", if you know that song. It also reminds me a bit of a hip Lawrence Welk kind of thing (I mean that as a compliment, it fits the listing). For my taste, I would have liked to have the organ solo come in earlier and then build back up to a restatement of the theme. Nice B3 playing.Very cool latin-tinged circus music...... Here's hoping we all get forwarded. They have a nice range to choose from!Mazz

Way to go Mazz..hopefully you will be hearing from the Library soon..that really was a fun little piece..Like Steve, I submitted to this listing and got the same message as he did..so you're not alone Steve... I submitted "Catch Me If You Can" taxi.com/rebekahjanellmusicI don't know, maybe some of you guys can take a listen and give me some pointers on the sound/production that might help me in the future. I know I've got a long way to go but I'm trying to be a student of the craft.
