Emotionally uplifting instrumental? Ears please!

Hi everyone, I'm getting ready to submit this. Any suggestions before I pass go? As always, thanks!

EMOTIONALLY UPLIFTING INSTRUMENTALS are needed by a NON-Exclusive, Music Supervisor-owned Library with a huge number of TV placements. They’re looking for Mid-to-Up-Tempo Instrumentals that would fall within the general stylistic ballpark of the following references:

“Together We Are Strong” by Mitchell Miller Music

“Reaching (Orchestral Uplifting)” by Dinletir Paul

Please submit contemporary Instrumentals based around keyboard or strings that can be used for sports promos and Olympic-type competitions. As far as the emotion of your Instrumental goes, think perseverance over adversity, victory and triumph! When using Orchestral elements, the strings should not be overbearing, syrupy, or sappy. Please make sure any Orchestral instrumentation you use sounds very realistic and convincing, as anything that is obviously synthetic-sounding won't work for this company.

Hey Loren!

Love the arrangement and feel you got going here!

I did notice what sounded a bit like distortion when some drums hit at like 32seconds in, and again at 48seconds, and again at 1:21. Could be something minor like some gain staging issues.. that would be my guess anyway. On the other hand, it could just be the sound you're going for.

Love the song though, and here's to it landing you a deal! :)

Thanks, Andrew! As for clipping, nothing is in the red, but the particular riser patch I’m using I notice is a hybrid patch, which is a bit dirty/gritty sounding. I’m go8ng to change it to a traditional orchestral swell and maybe pull it back a bit.

Thanks for the listen and feedback!

Ok, I changed to a smoother sounding riser, and I think that did the trick.

Hi Loren,

Like Andrew said.... the only thing I found wrong with the original was the riser having a distorted sound.
Glad to hear you changed it...nice track!

My 1/2 cents worth,
Tim

I really like this one, sounds uplifting to me, and on my studio speakers I don't really hear any distortion so maybe you already changed it.
The only thing I noticed (but Mabee it is due to the mp3 file) is that I thought it sounded a bit heavy in the mid-range on the instrument that keeps the steady 8th note going in the intro. Is there a guitar sample together with the strings there?
Anyway, nice cue and best of luck with the submission.
Regards Asbjorn

Forget the last comment, it is not heavy on the mid-range but there's something going on in the high range (a filter or something that makes it sound a bit hard or unnatural). Could be a mastering thing.
Still think it is a strong cue though and I would submit this.
All the best.

Hi Asbjorn,

Thanks very much for giving it a thorough listen. Glad to know the distortion issue is taken care of. I will give it a good listen to check eq before submitting.

Thanks again,

-Loren

Nice writing--nailed the emotion and a very contemporary sound.
