Any general criticism wouldalso be appreciated. Thanks, Stevewww.broadjam.com/CaraHaysNobody's Fool Hays/Chapman 2005Verse 1:I knew the emergency could waitAnd I knew the phone would never ringI knew an apology would never ever comeFrom the lips that caused my sufferingVerse 2:I knew the fire had burned outAnd I knew that all of the excuses had no endI knew the revolving run-aroundWould never make you bendPre-Chorus:But I couldn't see what you'd done to meChorus:I'm nobody's foolAnd I don't need to be your baby girlYou treated me so cruelThank you for teaching meOne thing I know I never knewI'm nobody's foolVerse 3:I knew the lies would never stopAnd I knew your ignorance was deafeningI knew that every empty promise that you utteredWould only keep on echoing, echoingPre-Chorus:Would only keep on echoingChorus:I'm nobody's foolAnd I don't need to be your baby girlYou treated me so cruelThank you for teaching meOne thing I know I never knewI'm nobody's foolBridge:You couldn't come over to see meAnd you didn't return my callAll the sudden you're so damn busyAnd I gotta accept it allWell I did for as long as I couldAnd it finally made me seeThe only thing I truly knewIs I'm better off without youChorus:Chorus:

I'd catagorize her as "knockout". As far as the music, I do film/tv instrumentals so this isn't my real area of expertise, but just as a casual listener I immediately thought "Country" or "Modern Country" or something similar.

Quote:I'd catagorize her as "knockout". .Yeah, she does that have going for her, as Bill Murray would say.Quote:As far as the music, I do film/tv instrumentals so this isn't my real area of expertise, but just as a casual listener I immediately thought "Country" or "Modern Country" or something similar.I was hoping for more rock, but the feedback we're getting says this one is country.Do you think it's the slide guitar that pushes it that way?Cara's accent maybe? It seems like the lyrics aren't very country to me. Whatabout the changes, do they seem country? Thanks for the listen!Steve

I think the slide guitar and song structure is very reminiscent of a Bonnie Raitt sound which is probably why you are getting the country "sounds like" reviews...I don't do much country listening, but I did catch part of the CMA this week and was suprised some of the cross-over tones being popularized... distored guitars and even Bon Jovi???Your singer has some interesting twang in her vocals and pronunciations that could go either way depending on what was backing her up in my opinion... Ditto on the previous "easy on the eyes" responseKeep trackin,DaveSounds by Davehttp://www.soundclick.com/bands/pageartist.cfm?bandid=189280

Don'tknow if you meant it as praise, but thanks just the same.In today's world of fake song-writers, I feel duty-boundto interject that Cara is the primary writer here. I helpedher come up with some of the harmonic structure, andgot the parts recorded for her, but on this tune, that'sabout all I did. Thanks for the encouragement, guys!!Steve

I don't think B.R. is very country, but I was hoping our tune wouldn't beperceived as "too" country either.
