Licensing Negotiation Question

Hypothetical situation inspired by Steve Barden’s class at the virtual road rally. Steve wrote a track for clarinet and guitar and some other instruments. Let’s say that Steve had to pay the clarinetist and other musicians $300 to play on his track. So let’s say that Steve submitted the track for a Taxi listing and it was forwarded by the screener and then placed on a TV show. And then the licensing agency says, “That track was great. We’d like five more in that vein.” How reasonable would it be for Steve to ask for the agency to cover some part of the cost of hiring the clarinetist and other musicians to create the new tracks at a cost of $300 per track? Thanks. Glenn
