Looking for feedback on this track before submitting for this listing: TAXI #S210901SS

https://www.taxi.com/members/cv6A-0O3R4 ... ferent-hue

A BUNCH of CONTEMPORARY SINGER/SONGWRITER SONGS with Male or Female Vocals are needed by a hard-plugging Music Library with a GREAT track record of placements!

This Library is looking for quite a few Songs in All Tempos in the general stylistic ballpark of the following references:

"Keep Me" by Novo Amor

"enough for you" by Olivia Rodrigo

"Hunger" by Ross Copperman

Please submit modern Singer/Songwriter Songs with engaging melodies, instantly memorable choruses, and honest, well-crafted lyrics. Stripped-down performances or more filled-out arrangements could both work for this pitch. Whichever approach you decide to take, be sure that your production and any virtual instruments or samples you use are high-quality and modern. Expressive, well-performed vocals could be the cherry on top!

Avoid references to specific names, dates, times, places, brands, and profanity in your lyrics as it will make your Songs more “sync-able.” Do NOT copy the referenced artists or songs in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, texture, and tone. Broadcast Quality is needed.

This company offers an EXCLUSIVE deal. You’ll split any upfront sync fees 50/50. They’ll get 100% of the Publisher’s share, and you’ll get 100% of the Writer’s share. You must own or control your Master and Copyright. Since this is an EXCLUSIVE deal, please be sure the material you submit for this pitch is NOT already signed with other Libraries or Catalogs. Please submit as many Songs as you’d like, online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PDT) on Wednesday, September 1st, 2021. TAXI # S210901SS

Any input is very appreciated.

Cheers,
-Eric

Hi Eric It is nice to meet you and thanks for reviewing my song. Loved the flow of your song. Also your voice mellows me right out. My problem (or yours) is that that cool voice doesn't shine thru the mix. Now that also could be that I don't hear so good and especially in the 2-400 range. Iam 72 :) Might be why my vocals are too hot.
I can hear the high harmony much better. I listened very carefully and could only make out a few words. The acoustic was very prominent. Not sure if you panned that acoustic to the side?
This is a beautiful piece and needs to be honed to the max. I really am a very poor mixer, so I can't break down the strong and weak points as some folks on this forum can. Lame excuse I know. I am retired and have all the time in the world, but I fail pathetically. I can still cheerlead tho. I hope others will break this down for you. Sincerely
Paul

Hi Sir Newbie. Here is a true fact. My mind is only about half as sharp as it was 3 years ago. I am good with that. You have some great ideas and I have copied yours and Mr Z's as well. Now I go back and study all of them and systematically start experimenting with changes. I like this track, but it needs a ton of changes. I am ready for it. I will get back to you when I try some of these suggestions. I really appreciate your effort. The best to you

Hey Paul - Appreciate the feedback. I'm gonna make a mix with the vocals more prominent and maybe pull back the acoustics. The acoustic was double mic'd and those were panned a bit, but could be more panned.
Anyway, these little suggestions I find really helpful and the words of encouragement also appreciated.
Best wishes to you!
-Eric

I agree with Paul, this beautiful song probably only needs the acoustic guitar and voice. In this case less is more. Great song :)

Hey, nice work. I really like it, but I think the vocals might need a little less processing as I heard a little bit of a tuning artifact. You have a good voice, let it get through. It's got a nice vibe to it and definitely some emotion.

I agree with the other posters. It's a beautiful vocal, but the melodyning takes it down instead of up. Don't try to hide yourself under it, use it only to iron out errors. No need for modesty or shame, it is enough and in this kind of song you shouldn't "hear" the autotune.

Thank you Tom - I am going to look into removing some elements or maybe creating the version you describe.
Appreciated!

Yeah - I recorded the vocals through a TC Helicon - that is probably the sound. I have a clean track that I will boost.
Really appreciate the input!
