Hey Guys -

Working on a submission for the listing below and would love to hear your constructive feedback.

"HAPPY, CLAPPY" ACOUSTIC POP INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by an extremely busy Music Library with a tremendously long list of killer placements in Hit TV Shows!

This Library is on the hunt for a bunch of Mid-to-Up-Tempo Instrumental Cues that are in the general stylistic ballpark of these references we got directly from them:

Chewy Commercial

"Carefree" by Kevin MacLeod

"Make It Shine" by Sophonic Media

"Spring In My Step" by Silent Partner

Please send well-produced Acoustic Pop Instrumentals with a happy-go-lucky vibe and sound. Your submissions should have bouncy rhythms, polished production, and top-notch Acoustic-based instrumentation – think ukulele, acoustic guitar, snaps, glockenspiel, etc. – and don't forget those claps! Craft your Cues around a singular, feel-good motif, and create a sense of forward momentum and dynamics by layering instrumentation in and out as they progress. If you plan on using any virtual instruments or samples, they need to sound like the real thing and can't be stiff or low-quality.

Thank you,
DK

Lovely tune :)
I find that your glock does not sound as crisp as the one in the "Carefree" reference, and even the harmonica could be brought up a notch, I believe. Those 2 are playing your melody, so you want them to be heard a bit more

I thinks it's good. A couple of thoughts....

It goes on for too long with natural breaks / edit points

It's a bit repetitive, I don't get a clear sense of contrasting sections - editors like this sort of thing as it gives them options and you end up with more placement opportunities.

The glock type sound is possibly too low , try it up an octave or doubled up and octave so it's a brighter sound

Guitar sounds a bit stiff- I am guessing this is a virtual instrument

Here is one I did a while back for a direct Library Brief ....it was rejected ! But at least you should be able to hear a couple of additional edit points

Hi,
I really enjoyed this track. It's got a nice happy feel to it and bright guitar chords that I like. Its not really a genre that I know much about but I thought I'd reply anyway because I really liked it. The only feedback I have that might be useful is that the harmonica felt a little low in the mix. Other than that it all sounds amazing to me.
Great job.

Stephen

Hi Stephen - and thanks for the feedback and encouragement! I've raised the harmonica a bit in the mix, hopefully enough but not too much.

Thanks again for listening and responding - much appreciated.

Nice tune!

All the chords in the A section are one bar only, and there seem to be a lot of different ones... this makes it a bit restless. I think it would improve if there was a two-bar chord in that progression? The B section doesn't suffer from this, you're already using two-bar chords there.

Just a thought!
