HI
Any feedback on my song for this Listing will be appreciated

.
Updated/New Song!!!
My Song:

Reference Tracks:

The Listing:
INVESTIGATIVE TENSION INSTRUMENTALS are needed by a Music Licensing Company with a large list of placements in Films, TV Commercials, and A-List TV Shows.
NOTE: This Company has signed lots of TAXI members over many years and nailed down lots of placements for them!
This Company is looking for Instrumentals that could be found on a playlist with the following references:
"404.2 IRC Fantasy" by Mac Quayle
"Vacation Days" by Thomas Newman
"The Crime Scene" by Kaae & Batz
Please send well-composed Instrumentals that could help establish a suspenseful, tense mood in a variety of investigative scenes and scenarios. You'd be wise to stick to a singular motif throughout your pieces, and create a sense of forward momentum and dynamics by layering instrumentation in and out as they progress. Your Cues can be composed around Electronic and/or Orchestral Instrumentation – dark, droning synths, moody orchestral arrangements, or a combination of both. Whichever approach you decide to take, your production and any virtual instruments or samples you use should be top-notch and modern.
TAXI Tip: We suggest trying to keep your submissions on the simpler side, melodically. Your job is more about establishing a tense mood rather than winning "Composer of the Year"!
Submissions should be about 2 minutes long, give or take, and have non-faded, buttoned/stinger endings. Do NOT copy the references in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed.

Hi Dennis
I like the track and the production. Nice job. Nevertheless, IMHO moodwise it's a bit too much on the positive, bright side. For a crime scene, investigation type of track, I expect it to be more on the minor side regarding the harmonic structure. Your track is more major based which gives it almost a heroic hopeful touch. My approach would be to leave it as it is and add some dissonance to make it more suspenseful. Good luck!

Hi Chris
Thanks for your feedback:-).
That's actually no major Chords in the chord Structure, but a Sus2 based chord flow, where the Piano Leads are making the Tension of the track. I think the track is pretty dark and has tension, but if it's enough, the screener will tell me

.
The third reference track has major chords along the way and has a little lighter mood, compared to mine.
I tried to add some dark synth elements to the track, but I couldn't come up with anything that made the track better

.
Merry Christmas

Dennis, nice piece! I listened to it before reading any comments and before listening to the ref tracks; I think it is a very good piece for what it is, and has great sounds and displays nice production values. IMHO, it does not sound a lot like the ref tracks though.
I'd call the three ref tracks "drone-ish", with a predominant drone pitch and melodic material that forms dissonant or minor intervals within itself and against the drone. I don't hear that kind of tension-inducing dissonance in you piece. The ref tracks also have some rhythmic elements that feel much faster than the pacing in your piece as well; I get a more relaxed, almost 'floating' feel from your cue. I simply don't think your cue is close enough to the refs to get fowarded. I have seen some listing calling for music like yours; this listing is not one of them.
Your cue is license-able, but you may want to think about saving $5 for a closer match. Hope this helps!

I like it a lot! Very nice job! Would love to know which libraries you'd recommend to achieve this level of production....
Thanks,
Doug
Thanks, Douglas

. Maybe this song won't fit this listing, but maybe on another

.
I have a huge collection of VST's and Kontakt sample Libraries, so maybe we could do a skype meeting in the new year, I would be happy to tell you about my setup

.
Merry Christmas

Hi Alan
Thanks for your feedback.
Yes, I think you're right. My track is maybe more suitable for a more Suspense kind of track, but I like it and I hope that it will get forwarded on another listing.
Merry Christmas

Hi Alan
I have composed a brand new song and submitted it instead of the old one because it was still possible to edit and replace my song on the Pending Submission page.
Is this more on pair with the first reference track?
You can still use the link at the top to hear the new song:-)
Merry Christmas

FWIW, Dennis, I would think your new composition would stand a chance. It does seem a bit brighter and more driven than the references in general, but perhaps still in the right ballpark. Here's hoping!
