Listing Info:

QUIRKY, LIGHT-HEARTED, ACOUSTIC-Based INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a boutique Music Library that gets tons of placements in TV Shows!
This Library wants Mid-to-Up-Tempo Instrumental Cues in the general stylistic wheelhouse of the following references we got directly from them:

"Funny" by AShamaluevMusic

"About That Oldie" by Vibe Tracks

Please submit top-notch Acoustic-based Instrumental Cues with an overall fun, quirky, feel-good vibe and sound. Craft your Cues around a singular motif, and create a sense forward momentum and dynamics by layering instrumentation in and out as they progress. Acoustic-based Instrumentation in the general style of the references will suit your submissions best – think foot stomps, handclaps, and plenty of bouncy energy. If you plan on using any virtual instruments or samples, please be sure they are high-quality, modern, and fresh.
NOTE: This Library is NOT after anything that sounds too "plucky, cartoon-y, or circus-y."
Your submissions should be approximately 2 minutes long, give or take. Non-faded, buttoned/stinger endings will work best for this pitch. Do NOT copy the referenced acts or songs in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed.

Hi Jared! I really like the tune, the arrangement, and the instrumentation and it's well-played. Nice job! If anything, I'd suggest working on the mix a bit more -- the drums, claps and bass could come up, in my opinion. But very nice work and good luck!

Thanks for the feedback Douglas. I truly appreciate it. I am going to work on remixing it and I’m definitely going to focus on your pointers as I do agree with you that it did get lost in the mix.

The one thing I noticed - and it affects the way all the instruments get heard - is that you have a beautiful, resonant acoustic guitar with full strums accompanying the piece. The wide frequency range of the guitar is great in isolation, but not so much in this mix. I think this is why cues of this ilk stay with uke and other very 'thin-sounding' instruments. Try to roll off some bass from the guitar and see (hear?) if that doesn't help open up the mix. My 2C.

Great piece, by the way!

Nice tune, Jared. I would roll off some of the upper frequencies on the flute. With headphones the flute sounds loud and overpowers the other instruments.

Thanks so much for the input. I will definitely tweak those high frequencies.

I like your tune Jared, good work:-)
It sounds like you have a master reverb on everything, it's a shame. Right now it all instruments are pushed way back in the mix and sound a little muddy, because of this. The reference track is more "In Your Face". I would dial the reverb down and maybe only put it on some of the elements.

Best wishes

Dennis

It took me a while to get back to the forum. I dig the new version of the track; it has the lightness and clarity I've come to expect from the 'happy cue'. Nice work!
