Howdy,
I could use some mix feedback on this one, please
Also, if you think this is a fit for this listing
Any advise, really
Thank you!
This Company is searching for Mid-to-Up-Tempo Instrumentals and/or Instrumental Cues that could be found on a playlist with the following references:
"Die Rockin" by Whiskey Myers feat. Cody Cannon & Ray Wylie Hubbard
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5dXVLj ... rt_radio=1
"Arkansas" by Chris Stapleton
"Skeletons" by Brothers Osborne
Although the references have vocals, please submit Instrumentals and/or Instrumental Cues only for this request.
Quoting the Company: "We are looking for greatly produced tracks with excellent performances that are representing the style and genre very well, while still staying within 'production music' rules."

Hey man, nice job on this -- sounds like a good fit for the listing imho. As far as the mix, the drums sound overly compressed to me and are missing some punch, especially the snare. Nice guitar tones and playing -- best of luck!

Thanks for the feedback and listen, Doug
I agree with you on the drums, I'll work on that

Dave,
You know I just can't get enough of your guitar playing, that said...
consider giving the cue at least 20s of the rhythm section without the lead guitar on top. Otherwise there might be a "too much solo" comment from the screener? JM2C

Thanks Alan, I appreciate the compliment my friend
Ok, I think I could do away with the first lead
I know what you mean, and then you get hit with not enough thematic or melodic content
I do think you're right, too much riffing can be a problem
Thanks!

Ok, I've updated the SC link with the drum revisions per Doug's suggestion
I tried Alan's suggestion about muting 20 seconds of lead, but I can't find where I like it
Maybe because my ears are now expecting to hear those parts
If you a moment, please let me know your opinions on where I'm at
Thanks!

2 cents from The Peanut Gallery - it's a solid, hard-hitting, short piece (I'd call it Southern Rock - more like a "Freebird" thing)...
so, TBH - I'd be reluctant to 'thin it out' too much... and have it lose its impact: which is what makes it ROCK.
Cool track, Dave.
It's not in my wheelhouse, so I'll leave the mix comments and suggestions to others.

Hi So great to hear real sounds. I listened to the ref track. The only thing that is slightly different is the stuff you have on the guitars. Your mix has a little more kick ass rock than that group that was shown. Not much difference. Would love to hear a vox with this. Good luck
Paul

I see you've placed the track on your player. Worth mentioning again that it kicks @ss!
