Here's a quick and dirty demo of a potential Easter type song that might be a little unconventional stylistically.

Give me your initial reactions and honest advice.

There's nothing especially wrong with it technically ...but it's rather 80s sounding

I don't really hear it as licensable....have you heard this sort of material used anywhere ? I haven't ..but I don't watch a ton of TV either. Plus I'm British and we don't really do religion.

Cosmicdolphin, my favorite theologians are British!

So, this is something I was looking to pitch to other artists or publishers.
Should I be looking for songwriting feedback in the Songwriter's nook as opposed to this peer to peer thread?

I would imagine it's a fairly small niche, but I'm not scouring the Listings with this type of material in mind either so if it's not for a current listing and a WIP then maybe the Songwriters Nook is a good place to ask.

It's just a rough so no need to comment on the production/performance. As cosmicdolphin mentioned, it's way too narrow in niche to be commercially marketable unless some very unusual opportunity arises. Are you committed to keeping the song along those religious lines? I'm hearing what could be a cool retro 60s style song, "Don't Be Afraid", but with more typical love relationship lyrics. It could be produced as authentic sounding mid-60s. I've done a number of those with a producer whose good at that and they are in good libraries, getting pitched to Film/TV regularly (No placements yet but good pitches).

Everything always depends on what your own intent and goal for a song, of course.
