Will it be a good deal?

Is it a good deal "writer’s share up to fifty (50%)" signing with a major library with very good placements? Exclusive tracks, non-exclusive composer
Yeah, it doesn't seem very fair, but always it's better to win 50% of 100 than 100% of 10. I'm betting on that in this case. And if not, better deals will come, hope soVanderBoegh wrote: ↑Mon Apr 11, 2022 7:48 pm"Writer's share up to 50%". Huh? You mean the library - or some other entity - is going to be taking 50% or more of the writer's share? Or do you mean the library will take 50% of the overall royalties (they take 100% of publishing, you take 100% of writers)?
The later is totally appropriate. The former is.... ummmm.... pretty sh*tty. Just depends on how fast you want to race to the bottom, and how desperately you want to sign music and hear it on TV, knowing everyone else is making 2x the amount of money you are.

Yea, as others said, this needs clarification. PRO royalties are split 50% publisher, 50% writer which is also referred to as 100% of writer's share and 100% of publisher's share. You should never accept anything less than the full writer's share.
