Well, first time I'm joining here too and looking for feedback.
Haven't really done any dramedy before but I'm working on a dramedy album right now. My big experiment, and so is my activity on taxi starting now checking out listings and submitting.

Any feedback welcome!

A track i did submit:

EDIT: for some way my link is not public while it is in my profile. here an alternative link until this is solved

Is it?
The track is public and I copied the taxi link. When I click it does work.
Maybe other members can add if they have the same issue?

That's what I did. The track is public.
When I click on my link in my post I see the track. Maybe I have to do this over again. Let me see.

I am just not sure what goes wrong. Track is public, I use the link from inside the profile from email and I get also an error when I log out from my profile...

See screenshot, public is on.Image

Because of the issues with my public track on taxi not being visible, here is an alternative link to the cue

Thanks for the Soundcloud Link , I can listen now - You didn't post the listing so I can't listen to the Ref tracks so I am going off what I know from previous dramedy forwards and placements of my own.

First thing that struck me about the opening section is it feels very jerky, the rhythm and the velocities seem a bit all over place. It reminded me a bit of when you ask one of these AI music programs to create a piece of music and whilst they are not producing technically incorrect notes, the way they are strung together feels unmusical and not pleasing to the ears. The sound of the strings doesn't seem right either, it sounds llke an ensemble patch playing short notes that might be staccato or marcato articulations , most dramedy will tend to use individual patches with a pizzicato articulation for that lighter sneaky feel.

The piano meoldy that comes in underneath at 15s sounds like it doesn't really gel that well with the string part , it sounds more like a part from a creepy tension cue than a sneaky dramedy cue.

It hangs together a little better once we get to the main section at 28s but as the sounds being used are not really the right type it doesn't work as a dramedy piece. The piano is kinda muddy and murky and it sometimes feels like it's not playing in harmony with the rest of the music.

Percussion has a bit of a dated sound to it as well, it's not really light enough and comes across more like loop you might use in a hip hop track. In dramedy we tend to hear orchestral type percussion whereas yours sounds like a drum machine pattern.

Mood wise, most dramedy tends to be kinda sneaky or a bit comedic. I don't know what they were asking for in the listing but I don't get that mood from Dramatic Return. It feels too clunky to be sneaky and chord progression comes over more like a corporate positive track.

Overall I think this is quite a long way away from being ready to pitch seriously to the industry, if you've already submitted then it's too late to change anything this time around but I fully expect you'll get a return but hopefully some useful feedback from the screener. I wouldn't set about making an album's worth at this point until you have learned to get closer to the quality required for a library to take notice.

If you haven't already , I reccommend you read both of Dean Krippaehne's books, Demsytifying the cue and then Demystifying the Genre - The latter has some great "recipe's" for many styles including dramedy which I think will help you.

Definitely check out Dean's book as well as Steve Barden's book "Writing Production Music for Television." They both include musical examples and explanations that you can learn from.

In your track, the string patch is not genre specific, usually dramedy uses pizzicato strings (short plucks). The drum sounds are very dated as well. Also, there isn't really a specific theme or melody to grab onto.

Again, the books above will certainly help you move in the right direction. Both are great books by great guys.
