Feedback for Christmas song

Hi Guys,
I'm looking for feedback on this children's Christmas song please.
https://www.taxi.com/members/k42FZOv_Sp ... as-starts-
My aim was to create a retro sounding 80's (ish) production and to lyrically paint an image of Christmas. The song was written and is sung by my 12 year old daughter.
Best wishes,
Glenn

hmm not sure why, the track is set to public so the link ought to work. But who knows with this extremely outdated web site and forum. It's like going back in time to when MySpace and Friends Reunited were top of the pile!

Hmm, your member page won't load for me either. I thought those were all public but I can't get to it.

That's a really beautiful song.

I thought the vocals sounded a bit muddy and could be crisper and clearer. What's your target for it? If Film/TV (has good potential!), it runs a bit long and it would be better with a hard ending, most sups don't like fadeouts. Who are the players (if other than you) and vocalists? Do you have signed work for hire agreements?
Nice song!

Thanks for the feedback Casey. It's just me doing the music and production, and my 12 year old daughter on vocals. In fact, she wrote this song herself. I don't have any signed work for hire agreements presently.

Wow, your daughter is very talented!

Obviously, you don't need any work for hire agreements (unless you are concerned she will sue one day).
Seriously, are you making it a co-write between you? I'm asking because one of you needs to be a writer for you to submit through Taxi though I'm not sure what the rules are regarding a minor child. If you are wondering, you could email them and ask.

Really nice song and a great performance. I'd echo the comments about the vocals running into a lot of the other mid-range instruments. Some EQ should be able to help carve out space for the vocals and they will sound clearer. The vocal sounds like it's missing a bit of "air" in the higher frequency which will also help.
