Hey everybody!
I'm working on an instrumental for a Cinematic Orchestral listing and would love some feedback.

Here's my track- https://www.taxi.com/members/KIU8KmYxSi ... urgent-sun

BEAUTIFUL, EMOTIONAL, CINEMATIC ORCHESTRAL INSTRUMENTALS are needed by a High-End International Music Library that's constantly landing tons of huge placements on Hit TV shows, Movie Trailers, and Films!

IMPORTANT NOTE: This Company is BRAND NEW to requesting music from TAXI, so chances are you don’t have any material in their catalog yet! This is an awesome opportunity to create a new outlet for your music and begin a new relationship with this Top-Tier company!

This Library is searching high and low for emotionally moving Instrumentals in the general wheelhouse of the following references:

"A Broken World Pt. 2" by Ben Berkenbosch https://youtu.be/dzOvYzY3ngQ

"Miracle of Life" by Nick Murray & Roger Shah feat. Juliet Lyons https://youtu.be/cRaWhmvNToY

"There Was A Time" by Scott Buckley https://youtu.be/bH8sq49wkjQ

Please submit well-composed, Cinematic Orchestral Instrumentals with beautiful and stirring energy that could help intensify the emotional impact of what is happening on screen. Your submissions should have affecting motifs, top-notch arrangements in the general ballpark of the references, and plenty of cinematic vibes. High-quality Orchestral instrumentation is required for this pitch. Some non-lyrical vocals could work for this request, as well - but please be sure not to overdo it! Please be sure your production and any virtual instruments or samples you use are polished and state-of-the-art. If you have tracks that could pull at listener's heartstrings and take them on an emotional journey, send them in!

All submissions should be about 2 minutes to 3:30 minutes in length, give or take, and have non-faded, buttoned/stinger endings. Do NOT copy the referenced artist or songs in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, texture, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed.

This Company offers an EXCLUSIVE deal, so the material you submit for this request CANNOT be signed with other publishers or catalogs. They’ll get 100% of the Publisher’s share, and you’ll keep 100% of the Writer’s share. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to pitch for this opportunity. Please submit as many Instrumentals as you'd like, online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PST) on Monday, December 26th, 2022. TAXI # S221226BU

Wow, this sounds fantastic! The strings sound very realistic to me, great job building up to a climax as well! The ending could have sustained a bit longer, for my taste, but still worked well. I know the deadline has passed for this, but good luck with it, and great work!
Happy New Year,
Doug

Thanks Doug for listening and the kind words!
The ending was one area I was hoping to get some feedback on, that and the build section. Apparently it's a return, but I gotta wait for the final word.

Very nicely done - I echo Doug's feedback.

Thanks Whipple!

It was returned, I was a bit surprised by the feedback (the checked boxes mainly), but I guess there's some more work to be done. Here's the feedback-

What I like most about this song
The instrumentation and track length fit the listing.

I think you could improve this song by
I think we can make this more cinematic by adding more layers. It could sound more powerful and epic. I'm missing the emotional journey for this.

I returned or forwarded this song because
The listing says, "Please submit well-composed, Cinematic Orchestral Instrumentals with beautiful and stirring energy that could help intensify the emotional impact of what is happening on screen. If you have tracks that could pull at listener's heartstrings and take them on an emotional journey, send them in!"

Checked boxes were as follows-
Could have a better developmental "arc"
Instrumentation feels stiff or over-quantized
Recording/Mix needs improvement
Not Broadcast Quality in context of this listing

I purposely left out the screeners #
Looking forward to hearing the forwards blog

I just listened to this after reading the screeners comments, and couldn't disagree more with him/her. I sometimes think the screeners are too strict and are potentially preventing relationships between composers and music supervisors / libraries being made.

Honestly, I'm just at a loss for how to improve it (other than adding some cinematic booms at parts). Maybe it's not bad, but should be thrown out.. like it was a good attempt, but the whole thing needs a better composition.. idk.
Thanks for the feedback!

I really liked it particularly the lead string line. I'm hardly qualified to offer advice as my return rate is dismally higher than my forward numbers I'm wondering if a brass or woodwinds layer coming in around the climax 1:15 ish. Again Im probably the worst person to take advice from :D but I really liked it anyway
