Hey y'all, looking for any feedback on this reggaeton track. I'm worried there is not enough variation every 8 bars (or rather the variation is too subtle) Thoughts? I added a little stereo widening at the end but I am wondering if maybe it would be more effective throughout rather than in that last moment. Thanks in advance!

Although the references have vocals, please submit Instrumentals and/or Instrumental Cues only for this pitch.

Please send them in well-produced, Reggaetón/Latin Pop Instrumentals (and/or Cues) that could work well for placements on TV Shows you might see on Netflix! Your submissions should have catchy motifs, danceable Reggaetón rhythms, solid instrumentation in the general wheelhouse of the references, and slick arrangements with plenty of dynamics, forward motion, and interest. Your productions need to be polished, and any virtual instruments or samples you use should be high-quality and not dated-sounding. If you have tracks that could add energy and Latin flavor to a scene, send them in!

Your submissions should be roughly 90 Seconds long for Cues, and about 2 to 4 minutes long for Instrumentals, give or take. Non-faded, buttoned/stinger endings will work best. You have a decent sounding track, and a good vibe. I am not really all that familiar with this genre, so I won't comment on the overall track - overall it was clean and had a nice sound.

One thing I think that could help is to perhaps make those drum sounds punch more. From what I hear the percussion is key to all of those reference tracks, and more out front. Yours is a little further back in the texture and volume.

On a side note, one way you could try to add a little extra energy, beyond the drum sounds, is to try and push the tempo up a bit.... experiment with an extra 5 to 10bpm.

I think it needs some more polish, it sounds dry to me. More reverb and brightness would help. The kick drum needs to hit harder, side chain the keyboard and pad to it so that the kick punches through.

Also, this will probably end up as a return due to the dreaded "needs a more compelling motiv" comment. There is no real melody present, the track becomes repetitive and seems to be the same volume throughout.

Go back and listen to the listing references and take notes on when instruments come in and out. Also check the tempos on the references to see how you track compares. Pay attention to panning, and listen for how many instruments are actually playing at any given time. To my ear the fast bongo rhythm became a little distracting.

I think this is a good start, it just needs some tweaking.

I agree on the mix comments. Still have time to polish.

I'm always confused by the more compelling motiv comment but I agree with you there as well. What instrument would you use as a melody? I tried having that nylon string guitar create some melodic interest but I guess it does sort of blend in the mix. Any suggestions? thanks!
