Hi guys,

I hope you're all well, been a while since I've been about because my stupid day job is interrupting the thing I actually want to do, (damn you financial necessity).

I'm wondering if you guys could give me a feedback on a track that I'm thinking of submitting to this listing, it's my first real stab at trailer music so I hope I've done it justice.

HYBRID NEOCLASSICAL INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a hard-working Music Licensing company that gets a bunch of cool placements in TV Shows, Films, and Game Trailers!

This company is searching for a range of Mid-to-Up-Tempo Instrumental Cues in the general stylistic ballpark of the following references:

"Marvel" by Ryan Taubert

"Supermarine" by Hans Zimmer

"The Elegy of Ares" by Laszlo Marodi

Although one of the references has some vocals, please submit Instrumental Cues only for this request. Some non-lyrical vocals (like choirs, "oohs" and "ahhs") could work.

Please submit well-composed, Hybrid Neoclassical Instrumental Cues that seamlessly blend Neoclassical strings with Electronic, Hip-Hop, Sound Design, and/or Rock elements. Your submissions should have engaging motifs, captivating instrumentation in the general wheelhouse of the references, solid rhythms, and slick arrangements with plenty of dynamics, forward motion, and interest. While your submissions can range mood-wise, we recommend sticking with one central motif to help make your Cues sound more cohesive. Your productions should be polished, and any virtual sounds or samples you use should be of high quality and current-sounding.

All submissions should be about 1 to 2 minutes long, give or take. Non-faded, buttoned/stinger endings will work best. Please do NOT copy the referenced examples in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, texture, tone, and overall vibe. Do NOT submit any material with unauthorized samples of any other artists’ music, sounds, or any other form of media. Broadcast Quality is needed.

This Library offers a NON-EXCLUSIVE, 50/50 Deal. You’ll get 50% of any sync fees and 100% of the Writer’s share. The Publisher will get 50% of sync fees and 100% of the Publisher’s Share. You’ll keep 100% of the original copyright and master recording. You must own or control the Masters and Copyright to submit to this pitch. Please submit as many Instrumental Cues as you’d like, online or per CD. Time permitting, someone from the Music Library may screen some or all of the submissions. Apologies, I'll amend my post to add the listing in full. I've done so in the past, it was just late and I was a bit burned out from a full day of it.

Nice track but for me it leans too far toward trailer

The most trailer-like track in the refs seems to be "The Elegy of Ares" which is something of an outlier compared to the other two I feel. Your track sounds like it was composed for a trailer listing rather than a Neo-classical listing. I'm not getting a Neo-Classical vibe from it very much at all.

That's partly the fast chord changes , and partly the arrangement / sound design that seems typically trailer and has less focus on strings/orchestral sounds. I think it's good but not the right thing personally.

Hmmm...I'm on the fence about this one. IMHO the lead violin in the first section is a bit thin and could use some fattening up to give it more authority, and in the last section the trailer hits are a bit overwhelmed by the rest of the track. Otherwise, I like it and think its sort of in the ball-park, so I'd have been willing to give it a go for $5 even if that bought nothing more than feedback, but the trailer guys will have far better advice. Good luck with it though .

Aye, it's a funny one this. Completely get where you guys are coming from, it's sort of there but not. I did lean heavily into the trailer park, I think because of the mention of momentum and I'm trying to break my cues up with clear edit points. Irrespective I think it turned out fine as it is, so it's another track to have in the old library. Never a mistake making something.
