HOUSE MUSIC INSTRUMENTALS are needed for an (up to) $500, Direct-to-Music Supervisor placement in an upcoming TV Series on a Premium Streaming Platform!

NOTABLE: This TV Show's Producer used a bunch of TAXI members' music in his last (several) films, and loved what he found so much that he keeps coming back for more music each time he works on a new film or TV show!

This Music Supervisor is looking for CURRENT-Sounding House Music Instrumentals that could be heard on a playlist with the following references:

"Symmetric Love" by Da Fresh

Although some of the references have vocals, please submit Instrumentals only for this pitch.

Please submit well-produced House Instrumentals with catchy melodies, infectious rhythms, exciting drops, and tons of mainstream appeal. Your submissions should have slick beats, solid arrangements, and current-sounding House Music instrumentation in the general ballpark of the references. Please be sure your productions are polished, and any virtual sounds or samples you use are high-quality and not dated-sounding. If you have tracks that pump up the energy, send them in!

Note: This TV series has scenes in Spain, so if you have some House Instrumentals with a few lyric phrases in Spanish, those are okay to submit. To be clear - this is NOT a requirement.

Please do NOT copy the referenced artists or songs in any way, shape, or form. Use it as a general guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Do NOT submit any material with unauthorized samples of any other artists’ music, sounds, or any other form of media. Broadcast Quality is needed.

The license fee for this placement is (up to) $500, depending on the ultimate use. This is a Direct-to-Music Supervisor placement, so you’ll keep 100% ownership of your Copyright and Master Recordings, plus you’ll also get 100% of the License Fee and any applicable performance royalties. You must own or control your Copyright and Master Recordings to pitch for this opportunity. Please submit as many Instrumentals as you’d like, online or per CD. I feel like a broken record repeating the same thing but whilst there are some decent ideas here you've done exactly what they say they don't want and shown up with non-broadcast quality dated sounding samples and mix.

To the trained ear it only takes 2-3 seconds to lock onto the fact it's not right. The 'popcorn' sounding synth with the flat sounding buzzy saw synth below it just scream low quality. I wouldn't class it as House Music.

I'm not sure if you ever listened to much EDM , it doesn't seem like it or you'd might have a better idea of what sounds to use and how the tracks are constructed. This track comes across more like you're just throwing stuff to the wall to see if anything sticks. But it's not.

The only thing that sticks is quality and that takes an investment of time and to a degree money to figure out not only the music and recording techniques required but also to give yourself the tools and environment necessary to compete.

I don't know what your end goal is but I think you need to take a serious look at the way you work and compare it with someone who's already got where your trying to go and ask what they do.

The "popcorn" sound is Native Instruments Massive X synth, House Lurker preset. Does anyone have an opinion as to whether this is just a bad choice, or if it could maybe work with better/different mix/production?

You can make anything sound great or terrble depending on where you're at.

I'm am 100% sure Telfeunkin could wrangle a much better noise out of my Yamaha Pacifica than I can because he's honed his craft ( and would change the strings ) whereas I've never been interested enough to put the work into guitar playing above a basic level.

And I'm sure I could make a much better House track out of Massive X than either of you because I like that type of thing and I have not only listened to it regularly but also worked at it for many years. So it's not just about the tools. It's about the amount of work you put into learning to apply those tools.

PS : I was also coincedentally working on a House tune yesterday - Not for Taxi but this is my own example - hopefully the library accept it.

I'm no expert, but given the examples I'd say you're quite off target. There's elements that are usable here, but it's repetitive and there's not much movement to it. As said above the synth sample just sounds like it's been used so many times, think the Wilhelm scream in films, once you know it's there you always know. That's not ideal. It's important to remember that with this genre drums are key, so I'd definitely beef up that element. Get the snare cutting through and give the kick more punch, I always sidechain my song to the kick so that it dips each time it is used, it makes it the focal point of the track, which is the key element of any sort of EDM.

This is not a genre to dabble in and this track isn't even close. Step back. What are your best skills? Do you play an instrument such as acoustic guitar? Write songs? Sometimes finding something simple you are good at is the way to start. Just for example, simple acoustic cues with minimal instruments get used all the time. You're too much all over the board (not a forum pun, LOL).

I'm not sure why it's so hard to compare what you have to the reference tracks. Sometimes we do"wishful listening". Been there.
