I was just curious about possible issues relating to copyright or signing two songs that essentially use the same chord progression or notes in some places but are very different in that the one is a high energy electric guitar rock song compared to the other which is more of a slower acoustic song. The arrangements would be different regarding intros, which parts repeat and for how long etc. and the main melody line is different and uses different instruments but if you were to listen to both side by side you might recognize them as having the same fundamentals.

Chord progressions aren't copyright-able. What matters is if the main melody is the same. Listen to both and ask yourself if you are hearing the same melody in sections where a lead melody is present.
