Mix Feedback: Organ/Blues

Hi
Looking for some mix feedback on this one. It was originally for a listing looking for organ fronted jazz/blues but we didn't get the mix in proper shape in time.

Mainly looking for simple stuff--- levels, panning, EQ tweaks, etc. I'm a simpleton, don't speak "Side-Chain", "Bus", etc.
I think it might sound a little "thin", like it leans to the hi end too much.
What sayeth you?
Casey

To these old-guy ears - the drums are quite dry & present while other stuff - the organ - is very wet.
Makes it (obvious or) appear that it was put together in pieces; and not recorded together in the same space.
It's gonna depend on which sound you're going for - wet & reverby vs. close, dry, in-your-face.
IMHO: it should be one or the other - or one of each, as an option.
But: if just one: maybe less-wet the organ, and move the drums 'back' just a little.
Maybe bring up the bass a bit, too.
The composition & tones all have a good vibe.
HTH.
Your mileage may vary.

organ seems a bit far away, you may want to pull the reverb back some. When I listen with headphones, the guitar seems to be louder than the organ which is the lead instrument, which could be another organ reverb issue.

All good points here. Thanks.

I agree with the above "wet/dry" stuff. The playing is great on the organ, might I add. It comes down to placement like the others said. I like to run a separate reverb bus and send different amounts of the instruments to it. Some folks might disagree but with this strategy, it makes the "band" sound like they're in the same room.

Hi, Casey!
It's a fun tune, really nice. Great playing, you have some talent there on tap (your own, or collaborators)!
I'm listening on laptop speakers, and while generally the low end is much reduced, here I get nothing from bass, kick, et. al. in the low frequencies. So Your assessment of tilting high is confirmed.

Getting the bass to sound in a few harmonics above the fundamental frequency (like with some EQ, or a saturator) will help it 'speak' when delivered through small speakers. Just a thought.
I don't disagree with the reverb comments. Just consider the balance while tweaking the rest of the mix.
