Hi all -- I'd appreciate any feedback on this mix before submitting.
A Bitter Pill:

I'm dealing with tinnitus at the moment and don't trust my ears.
Thanks for your help...

Old-guy ears review through JBL 305s - sounds balanced, even, and solid.
You didn't state what the target is - I'm guessing it could be sports or adventure-related;
is it for stand-alone soundscape, or underscore with dialog or narration over the top?
If the latter is the case, I'd suggest listening back to a very low-volume mono mix, just be ensure there's nothing popping out;
no spikes. Other than that, it's ready-to-go, IMHO.
HTH.

I agree With Peter, sounds level. I use Kali Audio LP-8 V2 8-inch Powered Studio Monitors. they are pretty true. Only thing I see is it may need more of a developmental arc and more edit points.(depending on it's use) Very cool music though! Great playing!!!

Cool track !
It's pretty darned close, sounds great on my mono mixcube, great on my studio boombox....switching to my APS monitors it sounds a tad wooly in the low end so I switched to my Slate VSX to do another check and sure enough every speaker emulation that has a bit more low end exhibits the same low end bloom in the mix. It might even just be that the bass guitar is a little too hot and whatever is catching my ear is protruding slightly from that.
It's not a huge deal breaker but I think if you could cut a little at the right place it would help, but without being able to put an EQ across the I can't tell you exact frequency...around 100hz is my guess
Mark
PS - I would 100% change the name of the track to something that fits the music

Really appreciate your help and feedback...

Yep - regarding the title: if you're gonna hold onto this track for a listing looking for an uptempo rockin' track,
maybe wait until you read the listing description and get a grasp on what the client WANTS (i.e. like the ref track they provided);
and then name it something easily identifiable AS THAT.
For example: say it's for a sport that involves use of a ball - soccer/football, whatever - then you title it something like
Rockin' Ball
(or some play-on-words kind of thing).
HTH,

I've had plenty of placements where they seem to have chosen the music because the title had something to do with what was on screen. The most recent example was a track I have called " Oncoming Storm ". I meant it more in an emotional sense but they seem to have taken it literally as in the clip it suddenly started lashing it down with rain and sounded like people running for cover.
If you take it that literally your track title " A Bitter Pill " should sound like someone taking medicine or visiting a Doctor or a scene by hospital bed..which obviously it doesn't.
