Cool approach.
To these old-guy ears, the lead vocal is way too buried.
IMHO - the lead 'oughta be' at or just below the volume of the snare.
Your mileage may very.

That's a real fun version with great guitar sounds and playing, as always. Great job!
I hope you'll soon be posting that this one was forwarded. :)

Yeah - I agree with everyone else. Great work Brad!! I am continually amazed by the talent that I see here!

I'm finding that most of the mixing issues I hear (in general, not on this song) aren't that much about compression - they're more about EQ. Here, the lead just needs a bit more space in the center of the image, so a slight EQ out of the guitars in that region where the lead sits will make it louder immediately. The lead also might use just a db or 2 upping on the volume anyway, but you might can fix that with slight boost in the EQ around 2K-6K just to give a little more presence.

Of course, I might be hearing it wrong and none of that will work. :D

All the best - Mark

Hi Mark- Thanks for the feedback. I think you are absolutely correct on this... The guitar solo doesn't sit well at all, it is almost like it doesnt' belong at all! I will make a couple of subtractive EQ moves on it and get that squared away! Great Call!

Hey Brad,
I was happy to see that you've been working on this one, especially after the RATM forward :)
Few things that might or not help:
I'd start my track with the actual 8 seconds and then jump to 00:17.. I feel that having 2 small intros is not beneficial.. but then again, it's my opinion.
From a production perspective, everything is dead center, and this is probably why there's a lot fighting over the place. I'd automate the guitars panning (if you have more than one): so I'll start with all the guitars in the center, and when the vocals kick in, I'd pan them hard left and hard right, give some space in the middle for the main vocals.
Same thing with the solo guitar.
Carving EQ is a great option as well. Look into sidchaining your guitars to your vocals, using a multi band compression too. It might help you save some space
The voice needs some serious EQ, and some polishing, it's too muffled
One last thing, is maybe adding few elements here and there within the stereo field to add more width to your mix
Hope that helps,
