Hi looking for feedback on my indie pop song. I'm pretty happy with the mix - it passes the car test to the point that I hear I everything clearly. the kick is a bit thuddy but I'm wondering if maybe that's a good thing in this style? Any thoughts or comments are appreciated.

My track:

The brief:
Lots of MODERN INDIE POP SONGS with Male or Female vocals are needed by a Successful Publisher with an awesome track record of really BIG placements! Many of them in big TV commercials!!

Notable: A member recently landed a $40,000 TV commercial placement through a TAXI listing for this company. We've had other reports of several others that were at least $10,000!

This Publisher is on the lookout for Songs that are in the general stylistic ballpark of the following references:

"Watch What I Do" by Hey Buko

"Talk to Me" by night lights

"New Best Thing" by KOYOTIE

QUOTING THE COMPANY: "We're specifically looking for tracks with a great vibe and energy, and a fantastic vocal."

Please submit well-crafted Indie Pop Songs with lots of commercial appeal and a sound that could be found on a playlist with the references! This company is specifically looking for tracks with a great energy, sound, and vibe that could work well for TV Commercials. (nothing too dark or emotionally down will work here!) Your submissions should have super catchy melodies, energetic grooves, infectious motifs, ear-worm hooks, solid arrangements, and well-written, universal lyrics. Instrumentation in the general ballpark of the references will work best for this listing. Please make sure that any virtual instruments or samples you use are high-quality, modern, and genre-appropriate. Confident and well-performed vocals are needed!

Lyrics should avoid references to specific names, dates, times, places, brands, and profanity. Please do NOT copy the references in any way, shape, or form. Use the references only as a general guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Do NOT submit any material with unauthorized samples of any other artists’ music, sounds, or any other form of media. Broadcast Quality is needed.

I think the overall vibe of the track works instrumentally but I suspect the vocal delivery might hold it back. The accent might be a problem but the constant repetition of "glitz and glam" gives it a bit of a novelty song vibe to my ear. Hope I'm wrong!

Good luck!

Ya know, I collaborated with the vocalist who also wrote the lyrics and while that was my initial feeling as well, its started to grow on me since then. : )

Here's hoping for a forward.
