Hey folks!

What do you make of my new hybrid trailer track:
https://www.taxi.com/members/kMKYrIiITq ... -tick-tock

It's been written for listing S250105HA:
Lots of ORCHESTRAL/HYBRID TRAILER-Style INSTRUMENTALS are needed by a BRAND NEW Music Licensing Company, led by a CEO with a strong track record of working with Major Clients and landing some very notable placements. They are currently looking to build up their catalog, and this is a great opportunity to get in on the ground floor with a Company that is poised to make waves in the industry!

This company is on the lookout for a bunch of Instrumentals in the general stylistic ballpark of the following references:

"Undercover" by Really Slow Motion

"S.A.B.E.R. Squad" by InfraSound Music

"Lone Wolf" by Digital Blizzard

Quoting the CEO: "3-Act Structures are required."

Please submit well-composed Orchestral/Hybrid Trailer-style Instrumentals with an exciting, cinematic sound, lots of epic intensity, and a masterful blend of Orchestral and electronic elements! Your submissions should have dramatic, awe-inspiring motifs, and three "acts" that build to a climactic crescendo. Please craft your pieces around one central motif and create dynamics, interest, and tons of exciting, forward development by layering instrumentation in and out as the pieces progress to a huge, climactic ending. Instrumentation should be a blend of cinematic Orchestral instruments and things like synthetic pulses, powerful sound design, synth bass, atmospheric fx, etc. Please make sure that any virtual instruments or samples you use are high-quality and modern. If they are organic based, they need to be very realistic-sounding and well-articulated.

Submissions should be about 2 to 2.5 minutes long, give or take. Non-faded, buttoned/stinger endings will work best. Please do NOT copy the referenced examples in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, texture, tone, and overall vibe. Do NOT submit any material with unauthorized samples of any other artists’ music, sounds, or any other form of media. Broadcast Quality is needed.
Do you think I hit the ball park? If not, what sticks out to you?

All feedback welcome!

Thanks,
Jim.

Hi Jim! I've been thinking about submitting to this one too. Check out their demo track "Undercover" again, I'm no expert but I bet they want something that gets really dynamic like that one does. It's the one of their three that your cut reminded me most of.

Thanks, Doug! I have Undercover on repeat already, will take another listen and steal some more ideas.

It's deceptively simple, I'm a little intimidated by it. Took it apart using a simple stem separator. It has keyboard bass, strings + effects, and drums with freaking MACHINE GUN FIRE near the end!

Simple is often better. What splitter did you use? Sounds like a very handy thing to have. I tend to just throw a track in Logic and then recreate the parts I want to learn from.

I used Audacity's free version with VINO tools, version 3.7. Works surprisingly well for being FREE! I love to delve into the stems because it gives me a guide for mixing levels as well.

i like your track a lot. The pulses are on point and the overall vibe fits the brief very well. the climax could be a bit more epic in my oppinion - more drums, more layered sounds with the main lead. But overall it's a solid track

100% agree with you on the ending. It needs more! Unfortunately, I’m not going to be able to make those revisions before the listing closes, so I’ve decided to go with what I got. Will keep working on the track… if it doesn’t land this time, I’ll have it in great shape for the next opportunity that comes along!

I hope you can find time to revisit it. I think you're close.
