This Library is on the hunt for Down-to-Mid-Tempo Instrumental Cues in the general stylistic wheelhouse of the following references:

Please submit well-crafted Instrumental Cues with a soft, intimate sound that captures your emotions and draws you in! This Company is looking for tracks that could work for heart-stopping scenes in TV and Film, such as heartbreak, loss, feeling conflicted, or similar dramatic moments. Your submissions should include tender motifs, tear-jerking melodies, beautiful musicianship, and growing arrangements with plenty of forward development as your piece progresses. Instrumentation in the general stylistic ballpark of the references will work best, such as piano, strings, synth pads, ambient guitar, cinematic cymbal swells, etc. Please be sure any virtual instruments or samples you use are high quality, very realistic, and not dated-sounding.

TAXI TIP: Pay close attention to the dynamic range of the reference tracks! Your tracks should have a nice developmental arc that culminates into an emotional apex, but make sure it doesn't go too far into the huge, blockbuster trailer-type sound.

Yeah, so this is one of those where it may be exactly what they're looking for, or not.

I like the piece! I think it is in the vicinity of what is being asked for here. The composition is good, and the mixing is on point.

I have two areas of concern: one is that there seems to be a lack of lower mids.. While you don't want it to be bass heavy, it kinda feels like there's a hole where the violas and celli would be.. That could be an arranging/orchestration issue or a mixing issue, depending on how you put the piece together. It could just sound a bit fuller in the lower mids. You don't need a lot there, but I am missing a little bit of weight there.

The second area is even more subjective: The listing says: "...but make sure it doesn't go too far into the huge, blockbuster trailer-type sound." In my opinion, the second half doesn't, but I'm not sure they'll hear it this way. When this listing came out, I did listen to the references, but I didn't again before I listened to your piece. So, I would just be sure to play close attention to the arc of the references and if you feel that this one matches, you should be good. It might be perfect as is... just depends on the interpretation of that bit in the listing.

My sense is that your track is too uplifting/positive for the listing. They are looking for tracks that can underscore heartbreak scenes, so your track should be dripping with drama and eschew any positive sentiment. I also agree with Mark that your second half is too big for what they're asking.

Maybe save this one for a different listing?

Hey Alon! I think this is a really nice piece. I love the piano part and the harmonic progression. Your instruments and mix sound great. I think the overall arc is okay too...not too huge as the brief warns. However, there are several reasons I believe it isn't right for this listing.

None of the references have this much percussion. In fact, I don't really hear any percussion in the reference tracks. I recommend removing it completely.

The pace is also more driving than what I hear in the references. I would slow it down a few clicks and really lean into the long, sustained chords with some dynamic expression.
