I was hoping someone could help me with the genre for this song

Hello everyone,
This is my first post. I'm populating my songs page and I'm a little stumped for this song. My producer/co-writer classified it as 90's hip hop but I just can't find anything from that era that really compares with it.
I can't help but feel that it definitely has its place in the sync world. Can anyone help me define it?

Oh no! I made the track private and just copied the url. Maybe that brought you to my artist page or something.
I SO appreciate your taking the time to check it out.

Hi!
Not hip-hop. I'd say the main genre is pop. Sub-genres could be 90s, dance-pop.

Thank you so much Casey, That's my feeling too. But when it comes to genre it sometimes feels like everyone is speaking a different language. I really appreciate your taking the time!

It's throwback Pop - kinda 90s sounding
Most listings want contemporary tracks , so the best advice is not to use your old songs ( unless it's a vintage listing ) and write new material specifically for your submissions.
On this particular track the intro is a bit weird, it sounded like there was a problem with the file for a few seconds. If you do plan on using it I'd ditch that part and come right in at 5s
The vocals also sounded like they'd been mangled with some sort of tuning software, I'm not sure you'd get over the "Broadcast Quality" bar with those. ( it doesn't sound like that on your other songs )
At 27s I'm left wondering what the lyrics are..hopefully it's Funk Me Baby but it sounds like it could be something more explcit which would rule it out of most sync opportunities.
