I think you have an excellent ground here, really nice trumpet.
Don't know if it's contemporary because you have a beat.
Felt more like smooth jazz with a beat.
Would like to hear some more variation, maybe a B part.

I've been going back and forth about writing a B section. I guess that settles it. I'll see what I can do. Another thing I just realized is that the snare seems to be stepping on the trumpet a little. Maybe I will just go to 2 and 4 once the melody comes in.
Thanks.

Hi,
I enjoyed the feel of your composition. I will be interested in hearing it again when you add a B section.
To me: the bass is too loud. I would turn it down then add some highs to make it cut through the mix. At the moment the bass sounds "blunt" to me. Also, the electric piano is too loud---it's swamping the mix.

Yeah, this is really smooth. It's not 'contemporary jazz' in the genre sense, but certainly fresh sounding. Love the funky guitar parts!
I think it's mostly a mixing thing, if you want to change this at all. Mixing really depends on the listing, and how you feel about it.
For me the intro loop was a bit too loud, thoughout, and was the 'swamping' thing in the mix. I also would have sequenced differently being a jazz influenced track. Maybe start with the piano, and make that a 'theme' before entering other things into the mix, as it gets a little bit lost, as is IMO. Then some of the other stuff, but that's an expression thing, and hey what you had here worked for me too.
Track may be a little 'hot' overall, if you are submitting for jazz listings.
But nice job!

Thanks guys, I will take another look at the mix and arrangement. It's nice to have a fresh set of ears.
