I recently submitted 2 pieces for the same listing (Roman Latin). One was forwarded (YEAH!), one was not. The second was not with only the recording box checked. I am new to recording and I really could use some input as to what changes the non-forwarded piece needs. I know you are all busy, but if any of you gurus could take the time I would really like to hear what you think. Broadcast Quality is still a bit of a mystery to me. I think maybe the piano & percussion were too loud, but I just don't know. Any help would be appreciated. The forwarded piece is "Qui Tollis", the non-forwarded piece is "Kyrie".

I think maybe the 808 hand claps might be throwing it off a bit. Sounds like a snare drum roll with hand claps instead...

Thank you, I think you're right. It's funny - my Mom kept saying "there's something wrong, I hear a scratchy noise". I told her it was supposed to be there, part of the percussion. Now I have to admit she may have been right! If there is anything else I would really love to know.

Congratulations on the forward!!

In listening to both pieces, I think the drum machine actually works in the one that got forwarded because it kind of gives the piece a more military or marching feel and sounds kind of "old" like Roman "old".

The drum machine part on the one that didn't make it through just didn't seem to fit the style of everything else that was going on. I'm a bit confused as to why you chose to use those sounds in that type of a piece, but that's probably because it's something I wouldn't have done, which doesn't really mean anything except personal taste. The handclaps seemed out of place to me.

I liked the live vocals in both pieces, good writing.

I see what you're saying. I wrote the Kyrie a while ago as a classical choral piece. Then I had this idea that I would try something different with it. Now that I'm re-working it I realize that the idea that I once thought was brillaint really was not. Oh well, back in I go!

Your music is really beautiful. I enjoyed listening. I thought some of the vocals were a little pitchy in the "Kyrie" piece. And the drum is a bit loud. It's a very cool piece though.
