Nice vibe! I'd say the genre is fusion jazz, sounding a bit 70ies. There were some Miles to the intro, and some more 1970'ies Miles along the way when the leads popped in.

I would remix this after mapping out where you envision the players on stage, and mix it accordingly. I thought the electric keys and the flute was too upfront, but there may be more issues when you dive into it. I would also let the groove be established a little longer for the listener, by just the drums, horns and bass, before you introduce the lead guitar. Maybe just move the guitar track to a later point in the mix.

At this point, I think the song needed a little more of it's own identity, as I'm not sure if I caught a clear theme, but the vibe of this piece is excellent IMO!

Thanks for all of your input. It is always greatly appreciated.
Magne- I moved the instruments around a little and it does sound better. I would love to lengthen the intro, but, from what they tell us at the rally is for TV/Film " get right to the point", maybe if I make it an album cut the long intro sounds really good.
Ott- thanks for the compliment, the sax's are me on alto and overdubbing tenor and more alto's. I'm doing the keys too. The drummer on this just graduated high school and is off to a jazz college.
Mojo- thanks for the "blaxpoitation", had to look it up, which was cool, enjoyed listening to the genre--

What's also funny is I was originally thinking of it as a christian contemporary tune" Dead man walking can you feel his pain... dead man walking did he die in vain etc.
