Im looking for a publisher, for the first time

Hi All,

Would like to ask some experienced memebers to help me please with som advice. Im trying to pitch a song to a publisher, however, it is vital to contact the right publisher for the style of music you have. Lists of publishers are available but they do not specify the field of action. How do you find out which publisher is recommended for , say, an Avril Lavigne song type? I tried to google artists but not always you find out who's behind.
