Hey all,

I've just made a video with a selection of music I wrote and recorded over the last 2 years. I've just submitted to Taxi, and I would really like you to tell me if you hear anything in this video that is "taxi-worth".

Thank you very much for your insight, I'm only starting in this !

Alex.

Hi Alex and welcome!

Not sure what you submitted to with this. There are too many tracks included in this video to comment in a realistic way on any one. Try posting each one separately, just the music. It sounds like there is extensive production work to be done on each track but then nothing really sounds good on youtube. So it might be great! It does sound like you can write! And thats a good thing!

Looking forward to hearing more!
Good Luck!

Thank you very much t4mh and cardell for listening !

The production is actually my big concern... I'm always impressed how professional the work of people here is. What I lack the most is skills in mastering.
I'll upload a song of mine, pre mastering and mastered versions. I'd be really interested in getting advice !

Thanks a lot again,

Alex.

Alex . Welcome aboard . "Yeah" to what t4mh said .. Do one song at a time , do it through Reverbnation or one of the others besides Taxi .. they seem to sound better that the Taxi site .. Ask for specifics too on what you're concerned about with the track.. gets a lot more responses.. Good luck and have fun ... #1 priority..

Thanks A LOT for your help guys.

As i was saying, the thing I'm the most concerned about is mixing/mastering. I've just made 2 versions of a song of mine, a pre-mastering one and a post-mastering one. I would love to hear feedback about those.
The thing is that reverbnation will only take 44 kHz mp3s, and mine are 48 kHz. Do you guys know how I can change that? Or another website? Thanks a lot again!

Welcome Alex. I've been with Taxi less than a year and still waiting for my first Taxi forward. I see you already got some good advice. I always tell new members to watch Taxi TV every Monday, or catch it archived. And get your songs critiqued. Not sure if it will be the same for you, but I had to learn to put my ego aside and just do what the critiques recommended. That was a major step in the right direction for me. Shortly after that I got a forward to a song library through my membership with another company like Taxi. It was hard proof that implementing the recommendations of industry professionals works!

I see Tom has a ReverbNation account and so do I. And I noticed what Tom mentioned, that for some reason Taxi's song hosting doesn't sound as good as ReverbNation's song hosting, or other services. I hope that changes for the better with the new Taxi website they've been talking about.

First of all, welcome to the fold. You are embarking on quite the ride! To properly critique a piece of music, it would have to first be put on it's own pedestal. Hard to critique a small sample of the music. Allow us to get into it. Post both versions, then we will dissect and inspect. Lol! D.B.
