U was a Taxi member a couple of years ago. I learned at the Road Rally that the forums and community could be a valuable place to learn and grow as a writer. Welcome to the forum. There are some very knowledgeable and experienced folks here that can offer you insights and suggestions far better than I, but here are a few thoughts that I've learned may help you (and those trying to help you) in regard to the forum:
- only ask for comments on one song (two at the most) at a time and be specific
- make it as easy as possible to find the song you are asking about (direct link to your taxi page or to the song)
- include the lyrics in your request
- keep in mind that the folks responding are just giving you their opinions and experience to try to help you; you may not agree with them and that's fine
- try to do what you can to help others

I did listen to "Something Inside of Me" and found it to be a very nice tune. I thought it was a little over-produced however. From what I could tell the lyrics are pretty strong; it's a nice melody; the vocal performance is good; and all that gets a little lost, especially in the chorus where the guitars coming in pretty strong from far left, the piano from far right, and so much else is going on. In my opinion the vocals are out in front enough and there's just too much rhythm section, especially playing chords. Again, I think it's a great tune; I just think it might be even better if you took some things out of the mix or at least may them less dominant.

Don is giving you some very good information on how to post on this forum. I would add that it's a good idea to put the link to your Taxi page in your signature. Still put the link in your post of course, but if for some reason you forget the link, it's always there in your signature.

I too listened to "Something Inside of Me" and agree with Don that it does sound over-produced. When you brought the keys in they just got in the way of me enjoying you singing. You got it going on though and I'm sure you know that. From what I heard, a little tweaking and you should easily get your stuff forwarded and beyond.
