Hi,

Since joining TAXI in August 2012 I've had 17 forwards out of 56 entries and have been signed to 2 publishers! TAXI has changed my life. I am so grateful.

Out of my 39 returns 10 have been from screener #309! I have never had a forward by them. 6 have been for hip hop instrumentals, 3 for pop instrumentals and 1 for an RnB song.

This upsets me a little as I feel some of my best work has been knocked back by this screener. One of the critiques I received for a hip-hop instrumental listing was as followed -

"This track is off to a good start, the ear catching hook instantly caught my attention. I like the direction and style of the drums but you should tighten up the beat as well add more instrumentation to the arrangement. The track is very empty and needs a fuller sound. If you were to add a more sophisticated approach to the style of the drums you may be able to get away with less!"

--- "The track is very empty and needs a fuller sound." --- Aren't a lot of pop hip-hop tracks empty in order to make the vocals pop? One of the examples is "Look At Me Know" by Chris Brown which is one of the most empty songs out! This is very upsetting as I deliberately remixed the track like this.

I have received several returns with the impression that screener #309 is not referencing every example in each listing when reviewing my songs.

People need to be able to put the questions you pose into context.

If we could hear an example of a song and read the text of the listing, then the context of the return could be puzzled out.

Can you post a link to one of your songs that got returned this way and paste the listing text?

I agree with Russell that it's best to post the entire listing text, the entire review, and a link to the track. In fact, 'dems the rules here. If you post a concen about a return, Taxi asks that you provide ALL the information.

That being said, when you have a concern like this which is about a particular screener and spans a number of submissions, it's best to give Taxi a call and discuss it with them. The 800 number is atop this page. You'll find that as long as you are polite and professional (and sometimes even when you are not, LOL), you'll get a cheerful response, folks will look into your concerns, and get back to you.
