At first receiving 3 returns on the listing below, I was pretty bummed. But, after reading and re-reading all the comments, I was actually pretty happy. I got high marks in all categories (7, 8 and 9s) and all three songs were marked 9 for melody. The main reason for not being forwarded were that the reviewer thought the choruses could be stronger. At first I disagreed. Big surprise there. Then after I thought about it and really dug into what I was doing in each chorus, I started to see what he/she meant. The next morning, I rewrote two of the three choruses very quickly and I'm very happy with the improvements. The other song will stay the same. I like it the way it is.
In case you want to listen, the three songs I submitted are on my TAXI page: Burdens, More Like You and You Never Let Go. I have not re-recorded the new versions yet, but More Like You and You Never Let Go will be redone as soon as I get a chance.

CONTEMPORARY CHRISTIAN ARTISTS/BANDS are needed by the DIRECTOR of A&R at a ***MAJOR*** CHRISTIAN RECORD LABEL running their FIRST listing with TAXI in 2 years. They're looking to sign Artists/Bands in the range of Phil Wickham, Chris Tomlin, Audrey Assad, Kari Jobe, etc. MALE and/ore FEMALE vocals are BOTH OK. ALL TEMPOS will be considered. Inspirational and conversational lyrics that are relatable and have the potential for crossover success will work best. ÊTAXI TIP: Many successful crossover songs have lyrics that practically mirror love songs.Ê Be sure to keep your listeners engaged all the way from beginning to end. Your chorus has to deliver a memorable hook that draws the listener back to the song again and again. Vocal and Instrumental performances must be excellent.
I'm actually happy with 3 returns on S121221CC
