At least the screener was nice about it:
"Thank you Peter for submitting your version of "Don't Worry BAby",very nice, but too retro in the feel. The listing asked for mainstream pop sounds."
and I agree!
Sometimes I just like to roll the dice
The song is on my taxi page if you'd like to hear the mess ...
Enjoy,

Haha Russell!!
I was so tempted to, but wanted to keep it "middle America friendly" for an "old-school" supe.

Hey Peter, I liked your version, and yep agree on its retro-ivity. I got a similar return on my version, with the screener saying the instrumentation is pop, but the vocal not pop enough (compared to Jack Johnson, etc). I was trying to thread the needle and missed the mark.
It's on my Taxi page if you want to hear another take. Thanks for posting, I like hearing other versions.

hey Jim,
I like the guitar sounds you got - think they sound great. I also see the comment about the vocal - probably in the chorus was the place to really go a different direction.
Peter, ya know, i could hear a different take on what you did that would have kicked it a different direction - like kind of an indie-folk kinda thing - take out the harmony ooh's off the top. Maybe add some loose claps, and a tamborine on 2+4
. good to hear all the different ways it can go.
thanks for posting both of you.

Yeh Andy,
Again, who knows WHAT they put in the "maybe" pile
Jim, I like yours too! It's tough because that song just has some inherent "retro" vibe imbedded in it.
Thanks for listening!
