Hi All

I got a return on ...

My track - Inspireation - at my Taxi webpage

ELECTRONIC DANCE INSTRUMENTAL CUES (aka EDM) are needed by a Music Library with global distribution and a long history of awesome Film and TV placements. They're eager to find rhythmically pulsing, Mid-to-Up-Tempo EDM Cues that could be found on the same playlists as acts like (but not limited to):
Calvin Harris: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3y1hSUyjNTA
Avicii: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHHLHGNpCSA
Zedd: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1a7o44WxNo
Although the references have vocals, please submit Instrumentals only for this pitch. Please submit energetic Instrumental Cues with a believable, contemporary EDM sound, with great builds, engaging melodic hooks, and a big chorus section. Build your submissions around a catchy central melodic theme, and keep it interesting by layering electronic elements in and out as your piece progresses to keep it dynamic and forward moving. Short intros, good edit points, and non-faded, buttoned/stinger endings will work best for this pitch.

For this reason...
Main synth pads need to be updated to reflect a more contemporary EDM type sound.
Further, the synth stabs at the beginning become repetitive quite quickly and continue on that way throughout most of the piece.

Would people agree with the critique? Esp wrt synth pad update.
I can see/ hear that doesn't exactly follow the structure that the listing mentioned.

Thanks in advance,
Rebecca

Hi Rebecca,

I can see where there screener is coming from. I like the sound of the piece when the drums come in, this would actually be a good starting point for the song and then you can build upon that. The synth riff stays the same throughout the entire piece, there needs to be some more variety in there. Usually there are two or three different synth/lead riffs throughout a single EMD track. There also could be more dynamic variation... maybe drop the synths out for 8 bars then bring them back in. From what I've been learning about this idiom you need to make changes of some kind every 8 bars. I think you have the style down, but just need more variety. :)
