I just rejoined Taxi, which I'm starting to doubt if worthwhile.A quick bio; I do a lot of topline writing for successful production teams, tracks with 6 different publishers, upcoming release with Disney solo artist & girlband in Europe.3 TRACKS SUBMITTED....Return - great potential but these songs need a bit more development for this particular listing in both the lyrics (a bit common and cliche) and the melodies - need to be very memorable for pop. These same 3 tracks - 1 has interest from Germany solo female, also universal are interested for european female. The others, several publishers interested, including an 80/20 offer from established ex-sony executive. Worldwide succesful DJ offer for one of the tracks too.YET TAXI RETURN THESE, APPARENTLY COMMON + CLICHE?Hi James, overall, you have good ideas within your melodies and lyrics that you can continue to work with - expand your ideas - bring these songs to the next level and think about what is compelling for a current pop audience. The hook is really important so think about how it's set up and how memorable it is melodically and lyrically - what will this young pop audience remember after the song is over? All the best, I can accept criticism but if thats the case, why do I have so many offers?

Do you think you could post the actual songs and lyrics to give your comments some substance?

What were the listings? Often songs that are perfect for one type of client may not be right for another, even if the song is "great" on it's own.Sometimes folks even post the song and the listing here to get a hearing by the forum crowd. It's always interesting and educational to hear a song in relationship to a listing. I know I listen differently when I'm comparing the song to the listing requirements rather than just hearing one pop up on the radio. If you're willing, post it up...............Mazz

Hi. Can you post the listing(s), the lyrics, a link to the song(s), and the complete review(s)? It helps if we have all information so we can help you figure out what's going on. Thks

Also FWIW, not wanting to be devil's advocate, but "interest" does not necessarily equal "want", as "interest" costs nothing (majors do this quite often to keep their options open). But interest means there's something to it, and I'm keen to hear your stuff.

Cool, i'll post the tracks & critique up in a couple of days, I'm working away from home just now.I hope I don't come across as arrogant, or someone who can't take criticism.Just to clarify too, although universal have expressed 'interest' - the other publishers have 'offered'.

I believe that matter of taste has a lot to do with it. I remember during the Listening Panel at the last Rally, some of the songs I thought were great the panel thought were bad and vice versa. Even between the guys on the panel, one would say I'd sign them while the others didn't see any potential.I've gotten two different critiques for the same song, one rated me all 6 and 7's; the other give me 8's and 9's. Go figure. Buttom line; you got deals in your hand, looks like the universe is moving it all around for you to get your placements NOW. Congratulations on that! PS: I also look forward to hearing the songs.
