TAXI.com

Hi All, after being away from Taxi for a while I rejoined recently and submitted three songs for the following listing S081007WOUNIQUE, AUTHENTIC YET CURRENT WORLD ARTISTS/BANDS are wanted by a very established and respected World Music Label with 150+ Compilation CD releases and worldwide distribution. Artists/styles ranging from Celtic to French, Carribean to African, Mediterannean to Eastern European, etc. will be considered. It's recommended that a blend of Contemporary and Traditional approaches be presented, for a unique and relevant sound. Beyond all, a clear identity that is consistent from song to song will be crucial. Excellent performances and recordings that compliment the songs/voice/region will get the most recognition. We'll need to be extremely selective, so please send in your very best songs! You'll also want to attach a PHOTO/BIO to your submission(s), including information about tour history/links/press/etc. Please submit two to three songs online or per CD, include PHOTO/BIO. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received by October 7, 2008. TAXI #S081007WOI just receieved an email saying the listings results were available .. and of course being eager to see what the reviewer thought .. looked straight away ... so now I'm confused ... all of the songs were returned .. but I was expecting to see a CRITIQUE or at least scores or reasons WHY they were returned .. but there's nothing ? There's a note that says .. Note: The comments and numerical scores on this sheet are meant as helpful, objective information and are not used to determine whether or not your music is forwarded. Each listing has unique criteria and submissions are considered with those in mind.but there are NO scores .. no critique .. just a standard blurb about not giving up ... what's going on ? .. I'm not impressed ! Is this what I can expect from taxi ?

Since this is a listing that provides a critique, you should see something similar to this...You'll have scores and comments for each song as well as overall comments plus the results for each song. If you're not seeing something like that, call Taxi and they'll get whatever snafu is causing problems straightened out.

Maybe Tiger6 has only read his email, and not the link to his Taxi submissions page?

Dave, yes that's more along the lines of what I was expecting ... Steve , I'm looking at the Taxi submissions page !

I actually had a problem on the critique I posted where the overall comments said "All good for the listing" or whatever it says but one of the tracks was marked "Return". It was an accident deal where the screener obviously intended to forward the track (all the tracks) but accidentally marked "return" on one of them. I called Taxi and they had it corrected within minutes.If you're not seeing something similar to what I posted (and it sounds like you're not), give them a call and you'll get things straightened out.Dave

Call the office, see if they know where your critiques went. If they don't know, I'm sure they'll re-screen the songs for you again. Sometimes crappy things happen, tho I wouldn't call this one gross negligence or anything. An honest mistake, more likely. Nor would I label it, "what you should expect from Taxi."
