What reviews?

You guys get reviews? It seems like all the listings that my music is even close to be worth considering for are all "Y's." When I first joined about 10 years ago, about 1 in 5 were "Y's." Now it seems for the ones my music is suited for, 4 in 5 are "Y's." It may be nice to get your music heard by the person who actually wants the music, but only if it is taken. If it is rejected, I want to know why. Otherwise, how am I supposed to fix something if I have no clue what is wrong?

Otherwise, how am I supposed to fix something if I have no clue what is wrong? You can submit for a custom critique, instead of waiting for a listing that includes one. Here's the text from the bottom of this linked page http://www.taxi.com/industry.phpCUSTOM CRITIQUESIf you have material you would like critiqued without responding to a specific listing, you've come to the right place. Fill out the submission form with the song title(s) and author(s) as usual, but in place of the listing number write "CUSTOM" in capital letters. Please include a note specifying the aspects you would like the listener to address. For example, some members like to have their craft (lyrics, rhyme, structure, etc.) closely critiqued. Others want to know for which genre their writing is best suited (sorry, but we can't recommend specific listings for you to pitch to). Still others want a review of their photos, bios, package, etc.The submission fee is $20 per song. Please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope, and make sure to specify if you want the tape (or CD) back, or just a critique. Remember, these critiques are for your own edification and development and NOT targeted for a label or publisher, and therefore will not be forwarded.

I recently had a custom critique and was pleased with the quality of the feedback I received... I posted about it here:http://taxi.proboards27.com/index.cgi?a ... age=1There is a link to the actual critique there. Casey

Unfortunately the solution to this problem is the solution to most problems . . . spend more money! (& get a custom critique)-

Or post it to the peer to peer and get a critiqued by guys who get critiqued all the time and it is free (if you can handle pulic critiques and that is an aquired tastle to say the least). What is your style of music? I'm learning to chat with other writers of my genres and swap advice and that has be the best feedback for me as I can talk back and forth on issues that aren't clear. I would really love the taxi custom critiques if I could dialog with the critiquer! Its all good but personal chat is just my best way of learning... '-) wta
