Honky Tonkin Forwarded - I Propose To Critiquer

Hi All...now I know what it`s like to faint...read that one of my 6 versions of Honky Tonkin`s to be forwarded for...wait for it...movies and tv and then things sort of blacked out for, what seemed like, ages...must have been more than 15 minutes, `cause ma porridge, which I had just put on the stove, was all burnt...lol.Seriously; strange indeed, but A real lesson in what Frankie Miller (R.C.A`s most successful singer/songwriter ever) said: "I do about 6 versions of any song I write and take it in to the a & r man. He normally goes through them and will dismiss about 5 and pass one, not realizing they`re the same song".I always do several versions of any song I`ve written and try to use different producers who`ll add their own touch to it and maybe, just maybe, give it that magic something that every song needs...I`ve also found that, when played to family, friends and anybody who`ll listen, they might, collectively, hate one producers version, but like a lot and predict big things for another`s...so the more versions you have, to a point, the greater your chances of coming up with something commercial to the people who have the last say.Ok, that`s ma theory and I`m a-stickin` to it...lolStup.s. The critiquer who first gave their opinion on one version and said too weak in the verses and chorus, so-so title, completely changed their minds with another version and passed it - lesson learned.p.p.s.
