No Forward...I'm a little bummed

I rushed to make a listing deadline when I joined TAXI and had to overnight my songs. Cost me nearly $50 to do so on a Saturday because DHL was the only one that could do it. Anyway, the songs were for a "Kenny Chesney" listing. No forward and no critique. Maybe they were not right for his voice. I can understand that I guesss. My songs were written more for a baritone voice. I also submitted to a Randy Travis listing. That may be more appropriate. My songs have a "Christian" theme to them and are suited for the deep voice. I guess I will have to wait and see how they do with his listing. Yeah, I know this is a very normal thing here at TAXI, but I'm still pretty bummed. If I can't get a forward on the other listings I submitted to, then I think I'm just wasting my time here. Here are the songs I sent to the Randy Travis Listing. Wish me luck. http://www.soundclick.com/tcartermusic

Well, "This Ring" would not have worked for the Kenny Chesney listing because he jut got that divorce and all, but it might suit another artist. I put another song on soundclick last night called "I Can't Stop". You are gonna hate that one. It's country cliche but it's pretty fun to listen to. The guitars may be a bit over the top though. Check it out.

Hi Lad...had a listen to your tune and loved it...feel it would do real well brought up to master standard and performed by an established act or an up-and-coming act. Also; taught me quite a bit in the way of production possibilities and will definitely be asking any future producers I work with to try using similar reverbs and certain other sounds.Cheers, Stu

Toncart,I listened to three songs and I thought they were pretty strong. The performances and musicianship were excellent.I did not think the chorus was very distinct from the rest of the song in This Ring. Not saying for sure that I would change it though. Often a song has to stay what it is.Anyway, these are strong songs and well done, all you have to do is keep sending them and they will eventually get forwarded. They are modern enough to fit in with today's country radio format IMO.

Guys, I can't begin to thank you enough for your positive comments and support for my songs. I thought that they were pretty good at one time, but after joining TAXI, I have had nothing forwarded in many attempts and have almost given up on the idea. I just can't understand why I can't get a forward. Is TAXI only looking for hit songs or potential #1 hits? Is there a place for filler songs on TAXI? At one point, I thought that my songs were mainstream enough for today's country market and had a chance at being on an album, but I can't get my foot in the door if I don't get a forward. I may be asking for my money back and just do the legwork myself. I was a little "fooled" into believing that I would get my music heard by thousands of people. I should have read the fine print a little better. If my tone sounds discouraging, it's because I am pretty down about the rejections right now.

Toncart, "filler songs" may have a chance at making it into a music library or other tv film placements... nut NOBODY in Nashville is looking for album cuts, cause they are drowning in those. They want radio hits, so when Taxi is looking for songs for Nashville artists, the bar is almost always extremely high and only potential hits will be forwarded. That's simply a reflection of Nashville "supply and demand", and you will encounter the same obstacles elsewhere.

Thanks. I will try and get a grip on what I really want to do with this music stuff or if I have the gut to take the shots and keep going on.
