Wrong Gender of Vocals

I recently submitted to a listing that said "Rock songs with male vocals". I submitted a song with what sounded like female vocals, but the vocalist now identifies as male. The gender of the vocalist was the only issue they had. Shouldn't have this been forwarded?

A Ukulele that identifies as a Tuba won't sound like one
Not hard to understand this concept

There was a time in the history if rock where it was
really hard to tell the sex of the performer from their press kit. Generally not the case today.

(is there such a thing as a banjosephine?)

I identify as a great singer. Not sure why no one likes my vocals!

Yeah - and I'm waiting for George Strait to identify as me - so that I can be worth his 500 mil.
(oh, and the singing thing, too - goes for me double)

I'm sure in today's cultural/political climate you could email the head screener and tell them their far right extremism and misogyny on this matter is akin to violence, and if they don't get with the program cancellation may be in the cards.

Or you could just tell them the story and I bet they'd bend over backwards to reverse the decision (they are based in LA after all).
I have been seeing a lot of briefs floating around specifically asking for LGBTQ+ submissions too though, so if you snoop around you may be able to find some libraries specifically interested in the artist's sexual identity.

Camel, very good points. I am looking for someone who identifies as a female lyricst. Could that be you?
