Dear Screeners #294 and #310,
I always take in consideration Taxi critiques about my songs submissions and try to make the necessary changes but I got confused with the last critiques.
I've submitted my song "If We Could" to listings S100928AC, Y101021AC and Y101126AC .
On the first one the song got (from screener #315):
7/10 for "Melody", "Lyrics", "Marketability" and "Song Structure"
8/10 for "Production", "Engineering", "Musician Ship" and "Lead Vocal".
The second and third listings were on a yes or no basis and the song was returned by screeners #294 and #310 with a mark on "Not Master/Broadcast Quality Vocal Performance" .
Well, since on the first listing the song got 8/10 for "Production", "Engineering" and "Lead Vocal" but then the Vocal Performance is considered has not having Broadcast Quality on the second and third listings, what parameters are taken in account for broadcast vocal quality? What do we have to do in order to obtain broadcast quality in vocal performance?
Best regards,
Sabino

Hi sabino....I read your bio and it seems to me that you've been around the block enough to know what you're doing...I can't listen to any of your songs while at work but plan to hear them when I get home....I'm assuming that your sound and act sells records and your touring experience says a lot for your" Paying your musical dues"... that being said....just speaking in general terms...I believe you may have gotten returns ....not because the voice wasn't clean and clear in the mix....but possibly rather...it wasn't quite what they were looking for in it's actual tone....I think BQ is about engineering AND the perfect maych in their minds as to how the vocal should sound texturally....sort of like..(and this is a stupid example)...Jim Nabors singing Aerosmith....Great baritone voice but not exactly what they wanted for the project....this is just my guess...you can call or Email Taxi personel if you want to get a clearer picture.....I'm looking forward to hearing your work....hopfully more people will chime in....

\.........ok......I listened to your songs and I think they're really well arranged and produced...I like "one last angel" the best.....I'm not sure why you got returns on "If we Could" for vocal performance...my only guess would be that your particular sound and texture wasn't what they were looking for at this time....it's not always about the engineering aspect of the production....I hope more people listen to your work and chime in on your question.....and good luck with your future submissions

Hi Tom!
Thank you very much for your message. I was expecting some feedback from Taxi too at this forum but I can see now that my wait is in vain.
All the best to you and your work.

Sabino:
TAXI screeners respond even less to questions on this board than they forward songs, which is around 5%.
