Hey everyone,
Just wanted to see what you guys think. I got a return for the following listing:
CONTEMPORARY SINGER/SONGWRITER-type INSTRUMENTALS a la Ryan Adams, Bright Eyes, etc., needed by a Music Production Company in need of tracks for a hugely successful reality show based on Teen Pregnancy. They're looking for tracks in the indie style that are Acoustic Guitar driven. (Drums, bass, etc. okay but feature that expressive acoustic guitar.) Instrumental tracks should be well developed, creating a focused mood, atmosphere, or energy level. Imagine your track enhancing an emotional scene for viewers!
The songs are "There's Hope Ahead" and "You're No Mistake"

The music box was checked.
Thanks for taking the time to listen!

Afraid I can't help, as I got returned as well. Just want to say that I heard both those on P2P and thought they you nailed it both times.
On my return the "instrumental performance" box was checked and this comment was left, "The drums and other instruments aren't locking as well as they could, to my ears."
That was the first time that I had seen a comment on a Y/N listing, so I'm hoping that they start doing that more often.

I am sorry to hear about the return as well Greg! At least you got a comment

I agree, wish that would happen more.
I guess my music wasn't quite what they were looking for.

Hey Brandon,
I like the tunes. I really can't hear why these didn't make the cut??? If there was anything at all.......and this is a stretch, maybe the drums on "You're No Mistake" are a little wet? But I don't think it kills the vibe of the song.
Who knows. Keep on truckin'
Good luck,
Paul

Wow, beautifully done on both!!

These listings are tough. I feel weird that mine got forwarded and so many other great ones didn't. I like these tracks way better than mine for the listing!
On "There's Hope Ahead"... The only thing I can think of is it leans a little too folk/country for the requested style??
"You're No Mistake"... Beats me.
You have fanstastic tracks here that many good libraries would be happy to snag. So even though it hurts to get the returns, I have no doubt these will be placed in the future.
Good luck!

Casey

Hey Brandon,
I'm new to Taxi, and here, so hello. I submitted to this listing also and got the same checked music box as you. Your songs both sounded great to me. My guess is that they weren't explicit in the listing when they said to create a focused mood. Perhaps you just picked the wrong mood to go for?
Your songs seemed to have the "bittersweet" mood to them, maybe they were looking for something a little different. Other than that, they sounded good to me. Although I'm still trying to learn where the bar is set for submissions since I'm new, so take it with a grain of salt.

Not really sure what didn't cut it about these. I just sampled everything off your taxi page. Really nice guitar work there! Keep plugging away. You're gonna be fine.
