Chillout return... off target
Posted: Fri Aug 17, 2012 7:04 am
Hi everyone.
I had three pieces returned for the below listing, all off target (only box checked). I have been trying to develop a more discerning ear to understand a genre by listening to the Ala's, but I must be overlooking some basic tenets.
I am trying to understand what I could have done to make these on target... am I even in the "ball park"?
I'm okay with the returns, but if anyone could take a listen to one or more of the pieces, I would welcome your thoughts about any aspect.
Thanks.

CHILLOUT INSTRUMENTALS in the style of "Moon Safari" by Air, Zero 7, Blockhead, etc., needed by boutique independent music library that specializes in Film/TV. Instrumentals submitted MUST have an engaging and intellectual quality similar to the referenced artists. INNOVATIVE instrumentation, CREATIVE programming skills, and super cool arrangements are a must have for this one! THINK: LAID-BACK grooves and melodies that can provide a perfect sophisticated DREAMY/ATMOSPHERIC quality to a scene. NO samples from other artists' work - MUST be original material. NO fade outs, BUTTON ENDINGS needed for this request. They offer a 50/50 split on sync and performance. Great instrumental performances are essential for this listing. NO VOCALS - Instrumentals ONLY! All submissions need to be Broadcast Quality (excellent home recordings are fine). You must own or control 100% of your master and composition. Please submit one to three instrumentals online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received no later than Wednesday, July 18, 2012.
