I Got My 1st Return and It Was Very Helpful!

I knew my submission was a stretch to fit the listing, but the bands that were used as examples had such wide-reaching styles of songs to their credits, that I thought I would take a chance and submit my first song to Taxi--just to get 'er started.

What I wasn't prepared for was the absolute spot-on critique of my dated sounding lyrics (my words). They're right! Not only are they cliche', but they don't represent today's vernacular. This is huge for me going forward--in fact, there are a couple of tunes I'm presently working on that I'm sure I can refine to bring the lyrics up to date.

Thank you Listener ID # 95. I do have Robin's book already and plan on reading it after I open it on Christmas ;) I also have two teenage boys where I'm sure I can gleen present-day jargon.

Maybe I'll submit the same tune if there's ever a listing for 80s or 90s rock :D (I also think if I really have a fit for a listing that I'm going to send in a CD instead of the online submission. I listened to my tracks online in their MP3 streaming version and the recording quality doesn't sound nearly as good as the .wav CD versions).

This is another reason why it was right to join Taxi BEFORE I built my catalog. I can't imagine how I would feel if I had a bunch of unmarketable tunes instead of ones I still have plenty of time to improve!!
